Eagles Notebook: GIrls Lax Wins Two, Baseball Gets Swept
The varsity girls lax team won two games and the varsity baseball team was swept in a three-game series by first place Sayville.
Baseball
The Eagles fell to 10-8 in League VI play by getting swept in a three game series by Sayville (13-2), scoring just two runs in the series.
In Game 1, a solid start by Joe DeFrank was put to waste as the bat were quiet in a 3-0 loss. Game 2 saw the only runs of the series by Rocky Point, but they still weren't enough in a 6-2 loss. A Game 3 pitchers duel ended with a walk off home run by Sayville in the bottom of the ninth as the Eagles suffered a 1-0 loss.

The Eagles finish the regular season 10-8 in League VI and 11-9 overall.

After a slow start to the season the varsity girls lacrosse squad got back on track with two wins to improve to 9-4 in conference play.
On Tuesday, the Eagles got six goals and three assists from Caitlin Gargan in a 17-4 drubbing of Babylon (4-8). Jessica Hassett added five goals and two assists in the win.
Rocky Point earned a huge 11-8 win over Eastport-South Manor (8-5) Thursday behind the sticks of Alyssa Guido, Kristine LoScalzo and Gargan, who had three, three and two goals each, respectively.

Boys Lacrosse
The Eagles won one and lost one in an up and down week for the team.
On Wednesday, Rocky Point took down Southampton (1-11) in dominating fashion with a 17-5 win. Pete Duggan, Matt Eager, John Bellissimo, Ryan Flatley and Mike Heinz each scored twice in the win.

Rocky Point ends their season on Tuesday at Babylon (4-7) at 4:30 p.m.
Softball
The Eagles fell to 5-12 in conference play with a 1-2 week.
On Monday, Rocky Point's Annie Kennedy allowed just one run, but that turned out to be one too many in a 1-0 loss to Westhampton (2-14).
The bats awoke on Wednesday as Kennedy earned the win with help from Alexa Mastando who went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the 7-2 win over Glenn (0-16). The Eagles ended the week by falling to crosstown rival Miller Place 5-0 Thursday. They travel to Easthampton (10-7) on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Girls Track
The varsity girls track team fell to Islip, 90-50 on May 10.
