Whiz Kid: Jake Scavetta a Soccer Standout

Scavetta, a varsity captain for Miller Place, will play Division I soccer at Manhattan College.

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Scavetta has been on the varsity soccer team since 2007 and was a captain and Team MVP the past two years. He made All-Conference the past three years, All-County in 2010 and was a State Cup Champion in 2009  and 2010 for the Hicksville Strikers while earning a spot on the United States Soccer Federation Albertson Academy U18 Team for 2011. For games, Jake has traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, Kansas, Arizona, Florida, West Virginia and practices three times a week all year round, with practices held in Nassau.

Keys to Awesomeness: In the fall, Scavetta will attend Manhattan College where he will play for their Division I soccer team. He has a 94 GPA and has taken AP Economics, College Forensics, College Italian, AP U.S.  and AP World History.
