Every year the Miller Place Robotics Team 514 readies a robot for the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Competition, and this year's robot is now in the prototype stage.

YouTube user thomasjohnlynch uploaded a few videos of the team testing out their robot in the early stages.

The team has had various fundraisers this year in order to afford competition costs as the 2011-12 Miller Place School District budget allocates funding for two Robotics coaches, but does not provide any funding for other costs, such as competition fees or parts and materials needed to build the robot.
