North Shore Youth Council Honors Volunteers

The North Shore Youth Council recognized those students who volunteered over the past year at the Rocky Point Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, May 21st. Some of the students participated in our Big Buddy Little Buddy program which is a cross-age mentoring program that matches up a high school student with a younger student. Others were junior counselors in our Summer Buddies Recreation Program and Peer Mentors in our School Age Child Care Program. These students selflessly volunteered their time, led by example, and really made a difference in the lives of their younger peers. The North Shore Youth Council would like to thank the Rocky Point School District for allowing us to honor these students and present them with certificates. We would also like to thank Legislator Sarah Anker and Councilwoman Jane Bonner for recognizing these outstanding students and awarding them with certificates.
