UPDATE: Power Restored Following Thursday Morning Rain

Power is expected to be back up between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

Update, 4 p.m.: Power has been restored to the area, according to LIPA.

Original story:
Over 200 Long Island Power Authority customers in the Shoreham-Wading River area are without power early Thursday afternoon following fierce rain, thunder and lightning to start the day.

According to LIPA's outage map – which was, itself, not operable for part of Thursday morning – 70 customers in the Shoreham area, just west of the power plant, are without power. And another 140 near North Country Road further east – near Cliff Road West and Great Rock Drive – are awaiting power.

Estimated restoration time for all customers is between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

Just over 400 customers are estimated to be without power across Long Island, according to LIPA.
