Don't Miss: Parade of Flags

Celebrate Labor Day with a little history.

If you want to take in a little history over the three-day weekend, the traditional parade of flags will be on display for Labor Day at Heritage Park in Mount Sinai.

100 national, state, armed forces, territory and local flags form a Parade of Flags in Heritage Park. Signs give information about States and the parade exhibits the growth of the nation.

A tour of Old Mans Farm,crop and machine exhibit,  corn crib and Mount Sinai Garden Club's perennial garden will also be available to visitors. Mount Sinai was called Old Mans prior to 1841, according to Fred Drewes of the Heritage Park Center. During the tour, various farm machines will be explained as well as the growing of crops like flax, soybean, potatoes, corn and oats. 

Tours of Symbols and Representations takes place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The event is free, but will be canceled in the event of rain.
