Get Out: A Bus to Manhattan and Wine Tours on the Sound

Koga, music, wine tours and a bus into Manhattan

 The last weekend in March offers nearby activites such as Koga, great bands, wine tours and even a trip into NYC.

1. KOGA AT HERITAGE PARK CENTER

Where/When: Heritage Park Center, 633 Mt. Sinai-Coram Road, Mt. Sinai,  weekly on Fridays, 10-11 a.m., Saturdays 9:30 a.m.

Why Go: To experience Koga, a combination of kickboxing and yoga, great for strength, flexibility and cardio fitness.

2. WINE TOURS ON THE SOUND

When/Where:East Wind Inn and Spa, 5720 Route 25a, Wading River, Thursday-Monday every week, 11:30 a.m–3:30 p.m.

 Why Go: To enjoy tours of three local wineries. Must have a group of four; limit 14 people per tour, which will last approximately four hours.

3. MEAN MACHINE AND THAT '70S BAND AT PORT JAZZ

Where/When: Port Jazz, 201 Main St, Port Jefferson, March 25 and 26, 10 p.m.

Why Go: For the innovative sounds of Mean Machine on Friday and the retro music of That 70s Band on Saturday.

4. LIBRARY BUS TRIP TO NYC

Where/When: North Shore Public Library 250 Route 25A, Shoreham, March 26, 9:30 a.m.

Why Go: For an early spring trip to NYC: see a show, shop, and more. Bus departs from the library parking lot at 9:30 a.m., leaves NYC from 42nd Street at 6 p.m.

5. THE GOOD RATS AT NAPPER TANDY'S

Where/When: , 275 Route 25a, Miller Place, March 26, 10 p.m.

Why Go: The Good Rats, a Long Island band from way back, ring out the month of March at Napper Tandy's.
