You all know Mother's Day is Sunday, so here are some special things locally to make mom feel appreciated--and a charity event to support.

Why Go: For a tour and tasing a tour at three local east end wineries.

3. MOM'S HAWAIIAN NIGHT OUT @ NSPL
Where/When: North Shore Public Library 250 Route 25A, Shoreham, May 6, 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: The North Shore Public Library offers a special night for kids and their moms: "Dance Aloha! Take Mom to Hawaii," for children five and older with their mom. A hula participation show-dance to the Hawiian classics, enjoy Hawaiian refreshments. Registration required.

4. 17TH ANNUAL FAMILIES WALK FOR HOPE
Where/When: , 75 North Country Road, Port Jefferson, May 7, 9 a.m.
Why Go: Whether you’re a breast cancer survivor, a family member, friend, or co-worker who has been diagnosed please join this walk to raise money for the Fortunato Breast Health Center at Mather Hospital. Organize a team of co-workers, school members, organizations or family and friends. Students can earn community service credit. Registration begins at 8 a.m., walk at 9 a.m. for the five mile course through Port Jefferson and Belle Terre.
Can't participate? Become a Virtual Walker by logging on to www.matherhospital.org/walk and clicking on the Virtual Walker button.
Pricing: $20 registration free (paid in advance or at the event). Receive $10 Walmart card for every $200 raised (Five card limit per walker). Call 631-476-2723.
5. MILLER PLACE PTO FLOWER SALE

Why Go: To get some flowers for Mom's special day: Perennials, Annuals, Hanging Baskets, Assorted Flats, Patio Plants, Potted Plants. Rain or shine.
