Get Out: "Pranqster Party" and Oktoberfest at Deks

Enjoy April Fool's weekend in town.

Start the weekend early--especially the ladies--at Tommy's Place, enjoy Aprils Fools and a very early OktoberFest at Deks, catch music at Port Jazz and workouts for you and the kids at the library and Gold Medal Gym.

Why Go: Every Thursday is Ladies Night at Tommy's Place--not only half price drinks, but beginning at 11 p.m., a free vacation to a warm tropical island will be given away every hour--four for the night. The one condition? You have to be there to win.

2. DEKS PRANQSTER PARTY AND SPRING OCKTOBERFEST

Where/When: Deks American Restaurant, 605 Route 25a, Rocky Point, April 1 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: For April Fools, Deks is hosting a "Pranqster Party" with Golden Belgian Ale from North Coast Cellars--and, as well, beginning "Oktoberfest in Spring," with German dishes.

3. PEAT MOSS AND GROOVE BUFFET AT PORT JAZZ

Where/When: Port Jazz, 201 Main Street, Port Jefferson, April 1-2 at 10 p.m.

Why Go: To greet April Fools night with cover band Peat Moss and the Fertilizers and then on Saturday enjoy the funk and soul of Groove Buffet--both nights regular with DJ Cleveland.

4. MASALA BHRANGA WORKOUT AT NSPL

Where/When: North Shore Public Library 250 Route 25A, Shoreham, April 2 at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: For a Masala Bhranga Workout, based on the traditional dance from Punjab, India. This is an introduction to Masala Bhranga Workout classes that will be held regularly in May.

5. GOLD MEDAL GYMNASTICS OPEN GYM

Where/Why: Gold Medal Gymnastic Center, 683 Route 25a, Rocky Point, weekly on Saturdays, 9 a.m–11 a.m.

Why Go: Gold Medal opens its doors to any gymnast who wishes to workout on any routines they choose.  All children are supervised.

Pricing: $8 members, $16 nonmembers.
