Get Rid Of Left Over Waste This Saturday

The Rose Caracappa Senior Center will host an e-waste shredding event for residents looking to dump electronics and personal items safely.

The Town of Brookhaven will host two special "post-holiday" residential shredding and e-waste drop off events for residents to "recycle their old paper documents" and "safely dispose of unused electronic devices," this Saturday in Mount Sinai at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center.

Overseeing the event is Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Tim Mazzei and Councilwoman Jane Bonner. “Many residents will be getting new electronic items for Christmas and we can help them dispose of the old ones in a way that is not harmful to the environment,” said Supervisor Romaine in a statement.

Councilwoman Jane Bonner, who represents Council District 2, where Rose Caracappa Senior Center is located said, “Our last e-waste event at Rose Caracappa, was a huge success with over 15,000 pounds collected. We should all make recycling our New Year’s resolution and this is a great way to get started.”
