The Mount Sinai Yacht Club held its 49th annual Commissioning Ceremony on Memorial Day weekend, inviting elected officials and community leaders to participate in this time honored event.
During the Commissioning Ceremony, the yacht club offered a memorial wreath to the sea in honor of the service men and woman who have lost their lives in defense of our liberty. This year Vietnam Veteran Stephen Hayduk P.E. committed the memorial wreath to Mt. Sinai Harbor.
“This organization has such an enduring tradition in our community and I wish all the members good weather and smooth sailing all season long," said Councilwoman Jane Bonner. "I also look forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary next year.”
