Photo of the Day: Fire Prevention Open House

Extrication exercises performed at Annual Fire Prevention Open House.

Members of the Miller Place Fire Department took time to pose in front of two vehicles used for extrication exercies during their Annual Fire Prevention Open House on Oct. 30.

During the exercise, firefighters became familiar with using the “Jaws of Life” and other firefighting tools on the vehicle in the event they needed to extricate a victim from the vehicle involved in a crash. They practiced on two vehicles donated by Gershow Recycling, which can be seen in the photograph.
