PHOTO: Swingtime Big Band Draws Crowd in Downtown Rocky Point.

The Rocky Point Summer Concert series continued rolling along last week with the Swingtime Big Band.

To date, the series has hosted Jerome “City” Smith and City Sounds Music and Strawberry Fields along the Swingtime Big Band.  The final concert, featuring the the popular Billy Joel cover band, Big Shot, will be held on Aug. 21 at 7:30 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Rocky Point. 

Legis. Sarah Anker has partnered with the Long Island Cares Food Bank in Hauppauge and attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items and pet food in support of the Harry Chapin Food Bank. 

“Long Island Cares is a wonderful organization that is vital to our communities,” said Anker.  “In this difficult economic climate, their services are needed more than ever.”
