Rocky Point Residents Begin Online Petition to Learn About Incorporation

Residents begin online petition to learn details on making their village an incorporation

Rocky Point residents are joining forces online in a new petition to learn more about getting their town incorporated as a village. Many residents feel that by incorporating, the community would be able to provide better and more controllable services to all who live there.

Once incorporated the town would become it's own entity, meaning it would have local control, be able to file for grant money and FEMA funds, and have the ability to create its own departments for zoning, highway, and code enforcement.

The idea has been discussed at civic meetings in the past, but it's still in the infancy stages. So to get the ball rolling again, Jeff Carlson, Rocky Point resident, has started an online petition to "gather information" and "discuss how to proceed, if at all."
