Miller Place-Rocky Point got its green on Saturday as the community gathered for a bit of the blarney at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Marchers and floats headed down Route 25A and Main Street as a sea of green cheered them on.

They got sequestered......Don't you realize it's more important to give money to Egypt; fund a study on why lesbians are fat; Study robotic squirels; etc, etc.
Oh, and one more thing, can't stop the golf outings ya know !!!

Never mind that - why did the friends of St. Patrick's pull the Rocky Point Golden Eagles from the Sound Beach Fire Department and put them with Rocky Point Fire Department? Sound Beach pays the Golden Eagles $1500 to march with them and they were left with no band.

Well, my kids were disappointed about the lack of Marine band. The most recent article I read before the parade said Schumer was going to make it happen, and that all their expenses were covered by the Friends of St Pat. Now I see why Schumer didn't show this year either. Hmpf.

Schumer always attends the Rocky Point Parade but this year attends Montauk's parade....probably embarrassed after that press release promising the MMarine Band!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting all these pics - it's a nice reminder of my home community when I am away!! The free performance that the US Marines Marching Band gives at the RPHS is absolutely amazing. My father was disappointed to miss them this year!!! Happy 70th Birthday Vic. Tastrom !
