Sound Beach Gets New Bus Shelter

Old bus shelter replaced on New York Avenue in front of the Sound Beach Post Office.

After the between the Town of Brookhaven and Signal Outdoor Advertising LCC of Deer Park to install new bus shelters, Sound Beach is already seeing the effects.

A brand new bus shelter has been installed in front of the Sound Beach Post Office on New York Avenue, thanks to efforts from the Sound Beach Civic Association and the office of Councilwoman Jane Bonner.

"In this economy, as more of our residents have the need to use public transportation, having such a nice amenity as this is a real plus for the community," Bonner said in a release. "Together with the park improvements and the traffic calming project these community enhancements will have a great impact on Sound Beach."
