PHOTOS: 62nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

A day of fun and St. Paddy's Day pride on 25A.

For the 62nd time, Echo Avenue was covered in green for the annual Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day Parade Sunday.

Local fire departments, community organizations and businesses marched on feet and rode on vibrant floats east on 25A from Harrison Avenue in Miller Place to Broadway in Rocky Point.

This parade just gets worse & worse every year...last year, the Air Horns on the Fire Trucks made it absolutely unbearable to watch...leaning on their air-horns breaking ear drums...every single child had their fingers in their ears. If it's not music, it should be banned from the parade. Monotone Horns at Ear Breaking Decibels is NOT my idea of a celebration.

Please Don't give up on the Parade! It's still all about the kids. Great organization and great people put this on for the community every year.

I saw pickup trucks loaded with boyscouts all with their fingers in their ears because the firetrucks were just leaning on their air horns...how is that fun for the kids? It was obviously painful....I had to put my beer down on the floor because I needed both hands to block my eardrums from being ruptured...again HOW IS THAT FUN for ANYONE? Music? Yes Please! Bands? Awesome! Bag Pipes? Perfect! AIR HORNS??! Come On Captain! Help me out here....I fail to see the logic.

Parades Should be Fun, there should be floats with the emphasis on creativity, music, bag pipes, beautiful women...all I see at this parade is an ongoing advertisement of pickup trucks with cheap vinyl banners advertising struggling businesses along 25A...this WHOLE Parade needs some REAL Life brought back to it...it's the most pathetic parade I have ever seen and I give it a change every year as I live one block from where it ends.
