Weekend Planner: Bi-Continental Walk/Run, Rocky Point Spring Fest

Take part in a walk to benefit the Hope Children's Fund and enjoy Rocky Point varsity sports this week.

When/Where: 9 a.m. Sunday at

Why Go: The Hope Children’s Fund and the Shoreham-Wading River High School Global Fund present a run to benefit the Hope Children’s Home for AIDS affected orphans and street children in Kenya. Runners will start at 9 a.m. in Shoreham and also at 4 p.m. in Kenya. Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko will participate in the run.

“It is a great experience and helps children who are suffering lead a fulfilling and productive life,” he said.

Presently there are 79 children who were taken off the street and placed in the Hope Children’s Home where they are receiving an education. For more information, visit www.hopechildrensfund.org.
