Weekend Planner: Hope for Jesse, Kick-A-Thon and Stuff-A-Bus

Benevolence is the theme this weekend with multiple charitable events for great causes.

When/Where: Friday at 5:30 a.m. through Nov. 23 at ., 379 Route 25a, Rocky Point.

Why Go: Before you sit down to your Thanksgiving dinner, make sure other families are able to as well by bringing non-perishable food items to Brooklyn Bagels for their Annual Food Bin Drive.

When/Where: Friday, 3-8 p.m. at , 385 Route 25A, Miller Place.

Why Go: Help the Miller Place Fire Department collect and stuff as much non-perishable food items into a bus to benefit families in need.

When/Where: Saturday, 2 p.m. at United Studios, 200 Wilson St, Port Jefferson Station.

Why Go: Liam is a nine-year-old boy that has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is fighting strong every day to beat the odds. is hosting this kick-a-thon to benefit Liam at their Port Jefferson school.

When/Where: Saturday, 10a.m.- 4p.m. at the Mount Sinai Middle School, 110 North Country Rd., Mount Sinai.

Why Go: There will be over 100 vendors and a special guest...Santa! He will be available for professional photos (either individual or group) from 10:30a.m.-1:30p.m. Admission is free and refreshments will be sold throughout the day.

When/Where: Sunday, 3 p.m at, 201 Main St., Port Jefferson.

Why Go: Jesse, a five-year-old boy, was diagnosed on March 1 with Leukemia. He has been fighting ever since, undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, in and out of the hospital with weekly blood and platelet transfusions, bone marrow and spinal biopsy's. Come support Jesse and his family Sunday. In addition to donating the facility, Port Jazz has generously offered to donate 10 percent of the bar’s proceeds of the evening back to the “Hope for Jesse Fund”. Steve Harper from KJoy will MC and there will be music, food, drinks, 50/50 raffle, Chinese, Live and Silent Auctions...all for a great cause.
