The North Shore Youth Council sponsors a brunch at the Rocky Point VFW, 11 a.m.-2p.m., honoring the post's commander Joe Cognitore, as well as Congressman Tim Bishop, and Suffolk County Sheriff Vincent DeMarco.

On Sunday The Miller Place Athletic Booster Club will be sponsoring "The 15th Annual Joe Keany Memorial 5k Run/Walk and Mile Family Fun Run/Walk" at the North Country Road Middle School, to benefit deserving scholar-athletes, 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m.

You can refresh yourself after that when The Miller Place Friends of the Arts hosts its 7th Annual Ice Cream Social at the Miller Place High School.  Listen to student musicians and vocalists while enjoying McNulty's ice cream and Ralph's Italian ices.
