What Miller Place, Rocky Point People Want In 2014

Patch asked readers what they want to see come in 2014, here's what they had to say and add your thoughts too.

On Thursday we asked readers on the Miller Place- Rocky Point Patch Facebook Page, “What do you want to see happen in Miller Place-Rocky Point in 2014?.”

Here are their several of their comments. Feel free to add yours to the comment section below:

Danielle Moore Trader Joe's

Linda Konnick Scalcione would love a Trader Joe's and Panera. Would also love for the Town to purchase the property of the drive in and make it a wonderful place for our kids to play, ride bikes, sleigh ride, and play sports.

Jeff Carlson The PJ to Wading River Rail to Trail started and designed as per the original plan!

Joyce G. Dutton Graf People picking up their own trash

Krystal Guccione Trader joe's without a doubt!

Drew Martin I'd love to see R2T go all the way to WR as originally planned, but it would be a huge misstep to start with a trail to nowhere from RP and head East. Keep in mind this is not an exercise trail as incorrectly billed....its intermodal transit that gets folks out of their cars and boosts EcoTourism for Rocky Point and the surrounding communities .If this project is to thrive long term, the first step would be to link with the LIRR and existing trail in 3V.

Alicia Dolfinger Trader joes, boston market, how about a regular landscaper who actually cares for OUR TOWN! Looks like junk...sorry. Fix us up will ya! Every town around is seems to get lovins but us :0(

Gregg Googs Taco Bell/Dairy Queen. No big stores. Keep the small town feel. If I want to go to big names stores I'll travel a few minutes east or west

Gerard Hall Rails to Trails from Port Jeff To Wading River hands down

Lori DeGeorges Stalker I'm really shocked at most of these answers lol! I thought most people would split a gut at a Wal-Mart, Lowes, Jack in the Box, Burger King etc. Surprising answers…

Joe Spina A stronger tax base…

Carol Bondy Trader Joes, cars ticketed for parking on their front lawns, and a crackdown on illegal apts/room rentals.

Eric Rutherford Wut would i like for rocky point?? I would love for them to buy that small empty lot on broadway, across the street from that"SAD" looking christmas tree that will never grow tall, because its right under power lines....... instead plant a nice"blue spruce tree in that lot, landscaipt it a couple benchies, and just let it grow....... picture perfect for old rocky point!!!!!! HEY the lot makes old broadway look like shit anyway.

Paul Zahra Lowes

Michael McCormick A State Farm in Rocky Point? Wish Granted! 125 route 25a suite 400 next to Century 21. 631-849-6900

Debbi Gallucci No more stores! Rails to Trails! A rec center like they have at the Wedge & recreational family activities! It can go where the drive-in was.

Eric Rutherford Hey!!!!!! Maybe even a small water fall around the base, u know the kind that r built with flat stone...….

Angela Liberto Tringone Independently owned restaurants and a bakery!!
Colleen Mary January 10, 2014 at 02:38 PM
A Lowes!!!!!!!!! No more pharmacies and a bagel place near Broadway!

"No corporations, no big box retailers, no more congestion! We can't develop anymore of our precious land......unless its a Trader Joes." Classic. We can't support a Moes but, hey, let's build a Panera! Rocky Point should develop the bypass like Riverhead build up 58. I want a Target, Lowes, and 5 and Below. While we're at it, lets get ourselves a Chik-fil-a and a DD.

Vinnie, you see, these Millenials HAVE TO HAVE their latte's and organic nut buns, THE LOCAL ECONOMY BE DARNED ! If it was up to them, we would be carpeted with these useless job creators.

Every resident to recycle whether it's convenient or not.

How about a genuine criminal investigation of the recycling racket here in Brookhaven? But you won't see it because there is someone, In Power, that intimidates ALL of the local pols, that would be ...ahem...adversely affected, money wise.
