Help Us Find Outer Peace: A Tranquility Project

Share your soulful pictures with Patch every day.

With news about everything from politics to school budgets blaring at us every day, we like to take some time out of our busy schedules to find a brief moment of harmony.

We commune with our community.

Find our equilibrium in the environment.

You know, chill out.

In our daily journey, something always strikes us and we just have to share with everyone. So when you come across that inspiring scene or slice of beach that seems especially serene, snap a picture and send it to us. Log on and upload it here, share it with us on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #tranquilityproject or email it to editor Lon Cohen. Remember to include a description of where you took the photo and why it makes you feel tranquil.

Check back here every day. We will collect photos and have a new one taken by the editor.

Spoken like a true teacher. Did you know that the average school teacher is only paying 15% of theRead More actual cost of health care premiums for themselves and their families, when Medical healthcare insurance premiums are rising at an alarming 17% per annum? Do you realize that teachers are paid an additional stipend if they work more than 3 consecutive periods in a day? Are you aware that teacher pensions were protected during the stock market crash of 2008, when the average person's 401K was totally at risk? Perhaps if teachers realized how good they have it - look at the BIG picture and outside of their bubble - then they would complain less. Oh and yes, we need our loftily-paid Administrators to kick in some of the salaries, to help pay for stuff. Hard to believe the school districts' mantras that "it's all for the kids".
