Rocky Point Group Wins Long Island Fall Festival Battle of the Bands

The Two Man Acoustical Jam from Rocky Point took home the top spot in the Battle Of The Bands at the 18th Annual Long Island Fall Festival over the weekend.

After being selected as one of four bands to compete over the weekend at the 18th Annual Long Island Fall Festival, the Two Man Acoustical Jam from Rocky Point took the top spot and have now earned the chance to open an upcoming show for a major act at The Paramount Theater in Huntington.

The band, made up of Gino D'Ambrosio and Jim Brown of Rocky Point, started performing just for fun in front of friends but have now taken that next step after what D'Ambrosio calls a surprising win at Battle of the Bands.

"It was an amazing feeling to win this competition," he said. "Jim and myself were completely taken by surprise. We never expected to win this competition, we were just hoping for some good exposure but I guess we got that now."

"For two guys who just love to play music as it was intended for our friends, it has really evolved in to something much larger over the last year and a half," D'Ambrosio said.
