Over $5,000 Raised in this year's Dig Pink Initiative in Rocky Point

Volleyball teams raise awareness, cash for breast cancer.

Rocky Point High School’s varsity and junior varsity volleyball players helped to dig up donations for breast cancer research this October when they designated their home game against McGann-Mercy to the annual Dig Pink fundraiser.

During the late October Saturday games, the teams, along with the Rocky Point Girls Leaders Club, coordinated a raffle auction as well as a baked goods and merchandise sale to proceed the program. Not only did both teams win their games, they also collected over $5000 for the initiative.
