Bites Nearby: A Tour of the Orient at Golden Chopsticks

Chinese, Japanese and Thai menus offer variety.

Overview: : , with its diverse combination of Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine has something for everyone -- including the health conscious and vegetarians -- in a family friendly package.

Decor: Comfortable and clean, the dining room and sushi bar signal that this is far more than your average Chinese take-out joint.

The Drinks: Assorted soda, a full bar and -- of course -- hot tea.

Appetizers: All of the Chinese classics, including Spring Rolls ($1.50), Boiled or Fried Dumplings ($4.95 for 6) and Shrimp Toast ($5.25 for 4). Vegetarians will appreciate the flavorful Boiled or Fried Vegetable Dumplings as well ($4.95 for 6). The Thai portion of the menu is highlighted by Ga Nuong Xa ($5.95), chicken skewers with peanut sauce and Thai Shrimp Rolls ($6.95), which are stuffed with shrimp, leeks, water chestnuts and crab.  Japanese favorites like Edamame ( $4.95), Gyoza ($4.95) and Yakitori ($5.95 for 2 skewers) round out your appetizer options.

Entrees: Chinese options are seemingly endless with everything from the usual suspects -- things like Chicken with  Broccoli ($9.95), Sweet & Sour Chicken ($9.95) , Moo Shu Pork ($8.95), Pork Lo Mein ($5.25/small, $7.25/large), Shrimp Fried Rice ($5.25/small, $7.25/large), Egg Foo Young ($8.95) and a myriad of tofu preparations ($7.95-$8.95) -- to Chef's Specials like Capital Chicken ($11.50), white mean chicken with red peppers and mushrooms in a brown sauce served with spinach, Dragon & Phoenix ($13.50) crispy jumbo shrimp in chili sauce served with General Tso's chicken, and Seafood World ($17.95), a melange of shrimp, lobster, scallops and crab and vegetables.  The special "Revolution Diet" section of the menu offers various steamed preparations made without salt, sugar or cornstarch.

The sushi bar options are almost as extensive with standard and creative rolls priced between $2.95 and $12.95 for the Rocky Point Roll -- a spicy tuna roll with tuna and salmon topped with red, orange and green tobiko, scallions, green seaweed and spicy mayo. The Japanese offerings also include hibachi favorites like Tempura ($10.95- $12.95), Teriyaki ($12.50 - $14.50) and Tonkatsu ($10.95), deep-fried, breaded pork.

Thai entrees are less diverse with three noodles dishes and one fried rice dish (all $11.95) and a handful of other entrees including Thai Sa-Tai Flavored Beef ($13.25), Coconut Chicken ($12.25) and Authentic Thai Curry ($11.25-14.25 depending on protein).

Sides: All entrees come with rice, but you can order extra or brown rice instead.

Desserts: If you dine in, you'll get orange slices and fortune cookies. For takeout, just the fortune cookies.

Service: Extremely attentive and friendly -- both in the dining room and for takeout.

Signature Dish: Sushi bar fare and various stir-fries.
