Local outlet of this mini-chain offers diverse bar food in a fun, energetic atmosphere

Overview: Many think of Miller Place's as a bar -- but it's much more, offering an array of sandwiches, burgers and Irish favorites.

The Drinks: Full bar is available with a better-than-standard draft beer list.

Appetizers: Bar food is elevated here with Nappers' Signature Wings and Specialty Wings ($7.50-$12.95 depending on order) available in classic buffalo sauce, teriyaki, bbq or honey bbq flavors. You'll find beef Sliders ($4.95) served with grilled onion, pickles and ketchup, Tandy Sliders ($5.50) made with breaded chicken breasts, coated in buffalo sauce with bleu cheese dressing.

Other expected apps include Chicken Quesadillas ($8.50), Mozzarella Sticks ($7.50), Pub Nachos ($7.95) and Cheese Fries ($3.95) -- but you'll also find Thai Sesame Chicken Skewers ($7.95).

Paninis, Sandwiches, Wraps and Burgers: Paninis, like all sandwiches and burgers, are served with french fries or homemade coleslaw, and can be made with Grilled Veggies ($8.50), Steak ($8.95), Cajun Chicken ($8.75) or Grilled Chicken ($8.75).

Sandwiches include a Classic Grilled Cheese ($7.25), Marinated Steak Tidbits ($8.95) and a Shell Steak Sandwich ($9.95) served with mushrooms and onion straws on a garlic hero.

Vegetarians will appreciate the Veggie Burger ($7.50) while carnivores have myriad options including a Pub Burger ($7.50), a standard burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle and fresh onion, the Tipp Burger ($8.95) which is crusted with peppercorns and served with cheddar cheese, A-1 sauce, onion straws and mayo, or the Tandy Special ($8.95) slathered in Guinness bbq sauce, cheddar and onion rings.

Wraps are priced from $8.50 to $8.95 and can be stuffed with Buffalo Chicken, Grilled Veggies, Chicken Caesar, Chicken Mozzarella or Steak.

Entrees: If you're looking for something a bit more substantial than a sandwich family, the Irish Favorites menu includes items like Fish and Chips ($10.95), Shepherd's Pie ($12.95) made with ground beef and a Gaelic Shell Steak ($13.95) smothered in onions, mushrooms and an Irish Whiskey cream sauce.

Service: Upbeat and energetic the servers and bartenders will take good care of you and keep the drinks coming.

Signature Dish: The Reuben ($8.95) a sandwich made with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island Dressing on grilled rye.

Did you know that the average school teacher is only paying 15% of theRead More actual cost of health care premiums for themselves and their families, when Medical healthcare insurance premiums are rising at an alarming 17% per annum? Do you realize that teachers are paid an additional stipend if they work more than 3 consecutive periods in a day? Are you aware that teacher pensions were protected during the stock market crash of 2008, when the average person's 401K was totally at risk? Perhaps if teachers realized how good they have it - look at the BIG picture and outside of their bubble - then they would complain less. Oh and yes, we need our loftily-paid Administrators to kick in some of the salaries, to help pay for stuff. Hard to believe the school districts' mantras that "it's all for the kids".
