This week Patch checked in with a few local business to see what's new. After just a few months, Anthony Joseph's closed down and is now reopening as The Local with a new menu and more casual feel.

Patch also checked in with George Kurovics, owner of George's Barber Shop, which has been in business in downtown Rocky Point for 64 years. The 87-year-old Kurovics is still cutting hair with his wife, and business is good.

Bloggers

The Miller Place-Rocky Point Patch bloggers posted some new content this week. Busy mom Claudine Jalajas talked about a new cookbook that helps her create delicious meals in little time that her whole family loves. She's even giving away a copy, just comment on her blog to enter.

Also, estethician Sara Greenblatt explained the importance of drinking water as the first step towards healthy skin. She also reviewed a special cleansing gel.
