Dunkin' Donuts Replacing White Castle in Mt. Sinai

New drive-thru Dunkin' opening shortly.

Just months after the closing of White Castle in Mt. Sinai, a Dunkin' Donuts is set to open in the location on Route 25A.

The business is currently hiring, and Franchisee Mohinder Singh told Patch that the location will be a drive-thru store and the drive-thru will be open 24 hours.

"We'll be opening shortly, but don't have a date yet," he said. "We thank the community for having us."

This will be the first Dunkin' with a drive-thru in the area, as the Miller Place and Port Jefferson Station locations are only walk-in restaurants.

Just what we all need...another Dunkin Donuts.

You mean you don't want another one within almost walking distance from the one east and west of it? Woo hoo...24 hours. So now more people to drive in and out of a business on 25A/347 without paying attention and create more traffic and accidents. Gotta love Long Island *rolls eyes*

I think it is a good idea. People drive by that spot regardless of what is there; they may as well drive through for coffee. I doubt that it would be a traffic magnet like a Sonic or something would be. I am hoping that it doesn't affect the new Crazy Beans, but as people seem to be fairly loyal to their coffee place, Dunkin' Donuts' customers would be going to Dunkin' Donuts anyway. Good luck to ANY business opening at this time in our area!

Ahhhhh a donut shop. The perfect business to open during a recession AND you can get your "feel good" by simply driving through. Don't laugh. Crispy Creame donuts were the successful rage during recessions past. Best of luck to any new business in the area that brings jobs to the locale.

We really need another Dunkin Donuts?? NOT! There are plenty of 7-Elevens within 1/4 mile of each other down 25A to get coffee from. Also, we shouldn't be eating all these fried donuts. Where's Mayor Bloomberg in all this? lol...have to joke a bit. Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

WOW I can't wait for the opening. I went out and got a bigger size pants and shirt just so I can attend.

At least it's not going to be another empty store. Crazy Beans is closer to the Miller Place Dunkin Donuts but CB coffee is much better. My son needs a job so I'm sending him over there.

I think it's great. A convenient drive-thru spot for coffee and donuts plus it will create jobs. I was never a White Castle fan. If you're worried about your health try their muffins. Nobody is making you eat donuts. I'm just disappointed it wasn't a DD/baskin Robbins.

wish it would of been a Arby's as I am so craving them to come back on the east end of the Island......

To be fair, neither the donuts or muffins are particularly healthy. On the average, the muffins have many more calories, sugar, and sodium (yes, our bodies do need sodium to function, but not at the rates that we eat them) than in the average doughnut. So for the average person, the doughnut might be a better treat to have. Even if you get the "reduced fat" muffin, you still have to take in consideration of the total calories. 1 gram of fat is equal to 9 Calories, 1 gram of carbohydrate = 4 Calories, 1 gram of protein = 4 Calories. Many of these "lower fat" products simply just add more sugar to make their product taste better in place of the fat content. So be careful when you buy these products thinking they might be "healthier." End of the day, I like my treats too, but too many people replace everyday meals with meals from these chains. This wasn't a post to argue or be rude, just thought I would bring up relevant information to your post. :) http://www.dunkindonuts.com/content/dunkindonuts/en/menu/nutrition/nutrition_catalog.html?filt_type=Bakery&nutrition_catalog_hidden=0&nutrition_catalog_needType=All&nutrition_catalog_selPage=2&nutrition_catalog_perPage=50

So glad there will be a 24 hour drive thru in the area. Can't get enough DD coffee. It's about time we finally got a useful business opening in this area. Me and many others I know will be donating large parts of our pay checks to this establishment! Thank you mr. Singh. Best of luck to you. I hope you prosper for many years to come.

CAN LONG ISLANDERS GET ANY LAZIER. A DRIVE-THRU 24 HOUR DUNKIN' DONUT STORE LOCATED IN MT. SINAI. CAN'T WAIT FOR MY WIFE TO WAKE ME UP AT 2:00 IN THE MORNING AND ASK ME TO GO TO THE STORE FOR A HALF DOZEN DONUTS BECAUSE SHE HAS A CRAVING. MAYBE THEY'LL START A FREE DELIVERY SERVICE.

I ALSO WISH THAT THEY WOULD BRING AN ARBY'S BACK TO SUFFOLK COUNTY. THEY OPENED ONE IN BELLMORE LAST YEAR AND IT APPEARS TO BE DOING VERY WELL.
