Hometown Flavor Made Fresh on Broadway

Rocky Point resident Stacy King brings Bagels-N-A Hole Lot More home.

You could call the opening of Bagels-N-A-Hole Lot More at the corner of Prince and Broadway in downtown Rocky Point a homecoming.

'Bagels' owner Stacy King returned to Rocky Point four years ago and lives six blocks away from her store. She's a single mom with two kids who said the fact that her kids can ride their bikes to see her at the store made it a "no-brainer" to bring her bagels to Broadway.

"I’m sure Ill do fine here," she said. "I was born and raised here, grew up, graduated and used to hang out on Broadway. I didn’t care too much for how Broadway looked when I got here and I decided I needed to change that and move closer so it was perfect."

While the store just opened on Wednesday, March 9, King has already reached out to give back to the community. She is giving donations for a Chinese Auction at and will be working with the Long Island Sharks youth football team, with plans for even more involvement down the road.

She also has plans for expansion, hoping to break down the wall and move to the next unit to add seating by the summer. She's also working on permits to add signage on Broadway, where at the moment, her store is hard to see.

"There’s still more work to be done but enough that we were able to open the doors," she said. "We’ll just chip away little by little."

The name Bagels-N-A-Hole Lot More rings true when looking at her menu options which include: 17 flavors of cream cheese, six flavored butters, 18 different flavored bagels, 14-15 lunch salads, hot foods, soups, all Boars Head meats, chopped salad bar, pastries, muffins, paninis wraps and more.

One thing you know you will find is quality. Why? Because King won't sell anything she wouldn't eat herself.

"Nothing in the store goes out to eat unless I eat it," she said. "If it’s not what I eat it goes back. All the salads are homemade, not from a store. We use Philadelphia cream cheese, Boars Head meats, all top of the line stuff because like I said, I eat it, I take it home and my kids take it for lunch."

King also said something you won't hear at her place is 'no' for an answer.

"We make eggs all day long, we never turn the grill off," she said. "I had gone to a deli once and the eggs ended at 11 a.m. I got there three minutes to the hour and the first thing she did was look at the clock. She made my sandwiches but someone walked in right after me and she said no even though my eggs were still on the grill. Nothing annoys me more."

King bakes throughout the day and will make anything special ordered unless "it's impossible." So whatever you're looking for, chances are Bagels-N-A-Hole Lot More can give it to you.

"If they want it and it’s not here and they want to wait for it to be made, we make it," she said. "It’s a no-brainer. It works and everybody’s happy."
