Mini Market Slated for Former Bagel Joint Space
Broadway Mini Market will be coming soon to Rocky Point, according to signage on the front door.
A market will be opening its doors soon on the corner of Prince and Broadway, in the space that last housed a bagel shop.
Bagels-N-a-Hole Lot More opened up in early 2011, but not finding the market it was looking for, had to close down before Christmas of that year. The site has remained vacant since, though new signage for a Broadway Mini Market has popped up, as well as a 'Coming Soon' sign.
Exactly when "soon" is remains to be seen, though. While shelves are starting to stock up inside the store, Brookhaven town's building department still has to inspect the store to see if its use fits in line with an existing certificate of occupancy, so whether or not planning board approval would be necessary for a new one remains a question.
We'll check back in, in coming weeks, to see what else the market will be offering and when it might be open.
