Plaza Sports Gears for Giant Super Bowl

Like much of Rocky Point, and Long Island in general,is gearing up for another New York Giants Super Bowl.

Customers in search of Giants apparel don't have to look far as they will find jerseys, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more right when they walk in the store. Store manager Peter Ferraro explained the order process, and how the printing companies make the product available.

"They heat seal the team logo and that's it, same thing with the t-shirts, everything is ready to roll," Ferraro said. 

Stores like Plaza Sports place their orders in an "if win" scenario. So when the Giants were playing the San Francisco 49ers, the print companies had NFC Championship and Super Bowl merchandise with both team logos ready.

In Plaza Sports' case, if the Giants didn't win then the order's cancelled. The Giants did win, however, and the merchandise is now featured heavily in the store.

"Once we get it in everything's moved to the front," he said. "It's moving well. We've ordered stuff from Reebok and then we make up our own jersey's, just plain jersey's with the player's name."

Giants fans have been coming through the store steadily since the win, and they expect to see even more as the weekend progresses.
