The picture was taken on February 27, 1901 courtesy of the Wading River Historical Society.

That is Billboard Rock in Wading River on North Country Road. I have heard it was so named because they used to post town notices on it.

There is a similar rock at Great Rock Golf Course, off Sound Avenue. I can see the rock from my back yard! I didn't realize there was another huge rock in Wading River!

There is another huge rock in Wading River on Herod Point Road if anyone is interested.
