Fill Up Elsewhere [Empty in Mt. Sinai]

Closed down over two years ago, the former Mobil on 347 and Crystal Brook Hollow remains vacant.

UPDATE: to the former Mobil location.

Two years ago, the Mobil station on the corner of Route 347 and Crystal Brook Hollow Road closed down. Since then, the property has been vacant.

While not a blight, there are some eyesores with the lot. There is some graffiti on the building and random items strewn about. A sign for the self-service island leans undisturbed against the main building, which is completely boarded up.

There is yellow caution tape surrounding two garbage cans on the site. The cans appear to be blocking the tops of open holes in the ground, possibly to prevent people from falling in and potentially causing harm.

There aren't many options with gas stations. Often the course of action is to bring in another fuel company or knock it down and build something else. However, does Mt. Sinai need another gas station?

So what should be done with the former Mobil site? Should another gas station take its place? Should the building be demolished and replaced with something else completely different?
