UPDATE: Miller Place Schools Issue Early Release Friday

Miller Place and Rocky Point have cancelled after-school activities Friday and Saturday.

Update: Miller Place schools have issued an early release Friday for all schools "due to the current weather forecast and anticipated snow." The high school will release at approximately 12 p.m, middle school at 12:45 p.m., Sound Beach school at 1:30 p.m. and Andrew Muller Primary School at 2 p.m. There is also no p.m. Kindergarten.

Original story published at 8:15 a.m. Friday: In the wake of the blizzard, local districts have announced cancellations of after-school activities along with other changes.

The Miller Place School District announced on its website that all activities have been cancelled for Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. This includes all clubs, athletic events, drama rehearsal, robotics practice and use of facilities by outside organizations.

In Rocky Point, all after-school activities and community building use for Friday, and Saturday are cancelled, and inclement weather bus stops are in effect for the morning. The message on the district website also urges district members to be prepared for additional updates. The Learning Experience school in Rocky Point announced it will have early release at 1 p.m. Friday.
