Port Jefferson

The producers of Toast Confidential –  on the popular Port Jefferson village breakfast place and its cast of quirky characters – have applied for permits to start filming this summer, according to a statement issued by the show's production company.

The producers hope to start filming in the last week in June and are scheduled to film three episodes over the summer at on East Main Street. Each episode takes approximately five to six days to shoot.

Smithtown

An elderly Smithtown man was hit and killed while walking along Jericho Turnpike Monday morning.

Salvatore Prianti, 87, was killed when struck by a motorist in front of 994 Jericho Turnpike, just west of Morewood Road, in Smithtown Monday morning, according to Suffolk County police.

Riverhead

A suggestion to hook up the Suffolk County administrative complex and county jail to a proposed new sewer district in the Flanders and Riverside area does not sit well with Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter.

Last week, district that could breathe new life and revitalization into economically depressed areas of Flanders and Riverside, a suggestion was made that should the sewer district be created, the Suffolk County Correctional Facility and county center could be included within its paramenters.

Astudent has been suspended, according to school officials, after reports surfaced that he made a list of peers he intended to kill.

The names of more than 20 fellow students made up the "kill list," which a friend discovered while sitting with the boy at lunch, according to a News 12 report.
