Patch Question: Did You Feel the Earthquake?

Magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Virginia but the effects were felt in Suffolk County just before 2 p.m.

Aftershocks from an earthquake that struck Virginia Tuesday afternoon were felt in New York.

The magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck the East Coast of the United States according to the USGS. The Suffolk County Police Department has asked residents to remain calm, and that while there have been no reports of substantial damage yet, all non-emergency incident can be reported by calling 631-852-COPS.

Over on our poll on the MP-RP Patch Facebook page, 44 said they "definitely" felt it, and 16 said "no" as Tuesday evening.
