Drive held in wake of aftermath of Sandy.

With so many left without power through November due to Hurricane Sandy, the Rocky Point Fire Department held an emergency drop-off for food, water and clothes on Nov. 3.

Volunteers worked throughout the day to help gather and sort items donated. Fire Chief Kenny Staufer told volunteer Barbara Branca, “Long Islanders really come together in times like this. Volunteers help people to get back up on their feet and to stay warm.”

Assemblyman Dan Losquadro was also on hand to help and speak with residents.
