Planet Fitness East End Raises Over $2K for Wounder Warrior Project

Fundraiser spanned across three fitness clubs on the East End.

A that took place in the Rocky Point, Riverhead and Hampton Bays gyms raised $2,244 for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Collection jars were out at each location during the fundraiser. John Mahoney, owner of all three gyms, vowed to match dollar for dollar up to $500 for every dollar donated. Each gym ended up donating $500 to the project.

"Basically my dad feels we should give back, and it's a good cause," said Brigid Mahoney, John's daughter, who works in the Rocky Point club.
