German Shepherd Saves Rocky Point Woman

After Linda Rubino suffered a stroke, her dog came to her aid by licking her, which kept her from gagging.

For Rocky Point's Linda Rubino, her dog is now her hero.

In early February, Rubino, 49, suffered a major stroke and collapsed. But her German shepherd, April, came over and started to lick her on her mouth, which her husband Tony says kept her from gagging on her own saliva, according to a CBS 880 report.

Her husband found her an hour later and rushed her to the hospital, where she recovered for 30 days. Rubino had heart surgery a year ago, which had first led her to suffering mini-strokes, before the major one in February.
