Rocky Point Singing Santas Perform at Brookhaven Tree Lighting

Singing Santas perform at Christmas Tree Lighting at Brookhaven Town Hall.

On Friday, the Town of Brookhaven kicked off the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting at Brookhaven Town Hall.

Newly elected Supervisor Ed Romaine and Santa Claus were joined by Councilwoman Connie Kepert and Councilman Tim Mazzei to light the Christmas tree at Brookhaven Town Hall. The annual event featured performances by the Rocky Point High School Singing Santas along with the Brookhaven Town talent show winners, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical dancers and the William Floyd High School Select Chorus.

Santa Claus arrived on a fire truck to greet the crowd and light the 50-foot Town Christmas Tree.

Since the Town Christmas Tree lighting celebration fell on the 71st anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Romaine honored our military by lighting the traditional wreath that features a yellow ribbon. Army Veteran Anthony Karabaich, who served from 1961 to 1963 with the 50th Army Engineers, joined Romaine.
