1. Hosted by Rep. Tim Bishop, Legis. Sarah Anker, and Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner, a FEMA Informational session regarding Sandy relief will be held in the Rocky Point VFW Building on King Road Thursday at 6 p.m.
2. A Rocky Point Special Education Resources Committee meeting will take place Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the Middle School.
3. The first meeting of the year for the Friends of the Library group at North Shore Public Library will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Everyone in the district is invited to join this group of volunteers who organize the used book sales, the artist receptions and deliver books to people who cannot leave their home.
4. A Shoreham-Wading River Board of Education meeting and community forum on school security will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at the high school.
5. A free volleyball session for those 35 and over is being hosted in the Rocky Point Middle School gym every Wednesday beginning Jan. 9. The class is free but limited to 16.
