Tuesday Outage Update: Thousands in Area Remain Powerless
LIPA assessing conditions in areas without power.
With upwards of 10,000 losing power in the area thanks to Hurricane Sandy Monday, thousands are left without power Tuesday morning, according to LIPA numbers.
Monday evening, LIPA issued a statement saying that crews would be hitting the ground Tuesday morning depending on weather conditions. Officials have stated that some areas could remain without power for 7-10 days. The following is a look at the official outage numbers according to LIPA as of 11:30 a.m. Please note that these are estimates from LIPA, and Patch will be updating throughout the day.
