Jennifer Maertz, D-Rocky Point, recently announced that she has received an endorsement from the GLBT Democrats of Long Island (Formerly GLBT Democrats of Suffolk County); the group's first endorsement in 2012.

Maertz, having declared her candidacy in early February, was r, D-Noyack. That primary vote is scheduled for Sept. 13.
