A once-annual trip to Washington DC for Miller Place eighth graders was cut in this year's budget. Now, parents of the upcoming class are urging the Board of Education to do what they can to reinstate the trip for the 2012-13 year.

James Myron Moeller, a former Miller Place school teacher and an active East Hampton resident, died at on Jan. 22. He was 73.
