Week in Review: Rocky Point Grad Killed, Four Arrested for Burglaries

Taylor Hotzoglou, a shooting victim found dead on the side of the road near his Tennessee home, was a 2007 graduate of .

According to a News Channel 5 report out of Clarksville, Tenn., Hotzoglou, 22, was found in his car on the side of the road in what was thought to be the result of an accident. Clarksville Police later found that Hotzoglou had been shot in his upper body, though they did not say where or how many times. The incident is still under investigation.

Suffolk County police on Wednesday arrested four people whom they say burglarized multiple homes in the Port Jefferson, Miller Place, Selden, and Setauket areas.

Police arrested Colleen Elam, Maurice Jones, Darnell Loften, and Sion Sosa after they fled the scene of a burglary they had allegedly committed at an East Setauket home at approximately 12:10 p.m. Wednesday. 

The Local is the latest restaurant to add to the list of failed endeavors in one location in the Crossroads Plaza in Rocky Point, as the restaurant will not open in the near future.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation who wished to remain anonymous, internal issues have put an end to the restaurant

Melissa Salerno, Rocky Point Class of 2004, has qualified for the 2012 USA Olympic Trials in the 1500 meter run.

Her time of 4:12.82 at Stanford University Sunday enables her to compete for a spot at the 2012 London Olympics. She is currently sponsored by New Balance.
