Vote for Jessica Ward for the Rocky Point Board of Education.

A $75 million dollar budget needs someone with a financial background.

Last year, at a Board of Ed meeting, Jessica Ward expressed her support of the budget even though it exceeded the cap with the caveat that it could not happen again—that the budgets must consider the economic climate. As anyone who has read my blogs knows, I fought hard last year to defeat that budget, but I was glad to hear someone who has children in the school and wants the best for them say that all segments of society need to be represented.

Her opponent’s qualification for this position is that she has been an educator and school administrator, but is that enough? When that’s all she brings to the table, the answer is no! Ms. Ward, however, brings a lot more.

As a former shareholder relations and customer service manager specializing in corporate mergers and acquisitions and finance, Jessica Ward brings a broader experience that can only be an asset to our district. She is currently serving as vice president of the Rocky Point PTA and director of the Long Island Sound Sharks Cheerleading Organization.  She has served as a parent member of the Rocky Point Shared Decision Making Team’s Districtwide Steering Committee and the Rocky Point Next STEP Planning Committee for Academic Excellence and as a moderator for the Superintendent’s Forum on Special Education. So she brings both a knowledge of finance and a commitment to quality education.   If elected, Jessica will work to represent every segment of the Rocky Point community and help the district to maintain all existing academic and extracurricular programs for all students in a fiscally responsible manner.

Vote for Jessica Ward on May 21.
