Life Around Here Part 3: The Rapture Edition

Just in case it really is Rapture day, some things you should try to get done before the end.

So if you are reading this post pretty much one of three things has occurred:

  1. It's before the Rapture (6pm today)
  2. You survived
  3. Its another oops moment kind of like Y2K

That said, there are a few things you should try to do today, you know just in case.

Walk the shoreline along Cedar Beach.  Yeah, it's rocky and the water is still cold.  But it's so tranquil, and this time of year still relatively quiet.

Head over to Blond for a nice dinner (may want to go early).  They still do the best job locally of pairing meals and wine-follow the wait staff's recommendations.

Take an off-road bike ride, or walk on the foot paths of the state preserve in Rocky Point.  There are several places to jump in-along Whiskey Road, along 25A. It's amazing how quickly you forget you are on Long Island.

Take a quick car drive west through the 347/112 intersection.  It looks like the never-ending reconstruction of that intersection is done, and it no longer requires packing snacks.

Invite some neighbors over for a 5:30 BBQ.  Weather should support it later today and one of two things can happen:  1-you'll probably be with some nice people when the end hits or 2-you can have an impromptu Preakness watching party.

What are your thoughts on stuff to make sure to get done, you know before the rapture?
