When the Baby Boomer Bubble Bursts: Memory Loss & What To Do About It
Schools and churches built for the baby boomers are increasingly empty whereas hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and spare bedrooms in family homes are increasingly full. Congregations, fellowships, choirs, bowling leagues and many other individuals and groups often notice someone’s memory loss before the person’s own family. We are presenting this event to address this situation that will increase in the years to come as our country ages.
This event is for interested people, caregivers, government organizations, but it does recognize that congregations and fellowships can play a beneficial role in recognizing and addressing memory loss issues. Attendees will listen, learn and speak with representatives from assisted living facilities, hospitals and the North Hempstead Aging-In-Place Initiative on topics including music and memory loss; palliative care; hospice, aging in place (staying at home); assisted living; home care; financial concerns; as well as spirituality, building community, and emotional health. Opportunities for supportive discussion with the panelists as well as with people in similar situations will be provided.
