Whiz Kid: Miller Place Senior is a Star on and Off the Field

Alex Hin's accomplishments range from athletic to academic.

Accomplishments:  
Hin is a three-sport athlete at Miller Place High School, participating in lacrosse, track and wrestling and is an honors student.

Alex Hin's high school career is packed with accomplishements both on the field and off.

He played attack and defense on the Junior Varsity lacrosse team for two years and was a member of the Varsity spring track team as a pole vaulter. 

Hin is now entering his fourth year as a Varsity wrestler, serving as team captain as a junior and will again have that leadership role as a senior.  As a junior, he was selected as Most Outstanding Wrestler and was crowned League Champion for his weight class in 2013.

The star athlete has been on the Honor Roll multiple times and is taking some Advanced Placement (A.P.) classes.  He has been playing the alto saxophone in the school district's music program since the fourth grade and currently plays in his high school's concert band. 

He is member of the Foreign Language Honor Society, Service Club and Varsity Club, which requires at least 25 hours of community service each year.  Hin has also volunteered his time cooking for Hope House Ministries.

The senior is employed as a lifeguard and hopes to pursue civil or mechanical engineering down the road.
