Patch is in a giving mood so there's more than ten in this guide

It's the holidays, a time to celebrate life and help out the less fortunate. Here's a list of nonprofits that are accepting donations.

The North Shore Youth Council supports youths and families with programs such as child care and big buddy/little buddy. Donations may be made on their web site.

helps juveniles through the child welfare system with social alternatives. They're located in Rocky Point and donations may be made online.

Whether you see them during football games or just walking down the street, the Salvation Army's red kettles are ubiquitous this time of year. If you can find one, they have a family store in Patchogue and accept monetary donations online.

Goodwill collects clothing and other goods year round. The nearest center is in Centereach.

is always looking for donors to keep the shelter operating. They have many holiday programs, including pictures with Santa, to raise funds at the end of the year.

Religious institutions do plenty to help out those in need in the area. , , , , , and are local religious houses that may appreciate donations to help out the less fortunate.
